Carmen Tang

Carmen Tang is the Tech Community & Product Manager for TechEquity Collaborative. Prior to joining TechEquity, Carmen was a security engineer at Facebook, where she developed various tools that kept the platform and community safe from malware and online predators. She was also closely involved with various community outreach work through facilitating tours for high school students and presenting at conferences that encourage women and students of color to pursue a career in STEM.

Prior to Facebook, Carmen was an active community organizer at the University of California Berkeley, where she held various leadership roles under REACH! (Bridges) and ANova. Both organizations aimed to provide educational resources to students from traditionally under-represented and under-resourced communities across the Bay Area. Carmen’s focus is on integrating the power of technology and education in hopes of building a community that can serve everyone equitably.
